Palani Pilgrimage 2023 — Esanatham Devotees Journey

The annual Padayatra (foot pilgrimage) from Esanatham to the sacred shrine of Lord Murugan in Palani was held in 2023 with immense devotion and spiritual fervor. Devotees from our village embarked on the traditional three-day journey, walking for miles under the hot sun to fulfill their vows.

Chanting "Arohara" and singing hymns in praise of Lord Murugan, the procession carried the holy Vel, Kavadi, and Paal Kudam (milk pots). The spiritual energy was palpable as people of all ages—from young children to elders—participated with unwavering faith.

Along the route, several rest stops (Annadhanam) and Neer Mor Panthals (buttermilk stalls) were organized where volunteers served food and refreshments to the weary pilgrims. The journey concluded on the third day at the foothills of Palani, where the devotees offered their prayers and completed their vows at the hill shrine.

This annual tradition not only demonstrates the deep-rooted faith of our community but also brings the villagers together in a spirit of unity and shared devotion.
